Can't swear to it but my gut says it's a 4.

1. The wheels are the wheels that come stock on a MBX4....that is a weak argument but a thought.

2. The pictured buggy appears to have a stand up steering servo...I'm no expert but I beleive the 5 has the laydown.

3. The 4 was purple, like the one in the photos....isn't the anodizing on the 5 black?

Nothing definative here VB....but a couple things to hopefully help on your quest.

I asked the guy for some more pics, closeup of radio box and servo tray, I'll know what it is by those pics when and if I get them.

I think Mr. T is right...look at the Servo tray...the steering servo on the MBX-5 is laydown...and it comes w/ carbon fiber stock......the upper front arms look longer than a 5 ....course going by memory, I can look at mine tonite.....the tank doesn't have that tall divider fin like the 5 does and the chassis isn't milled out like the 5 is......

Yeah its a 4, the shell gives it away for me, are you getting the engine as well, if so that filter is missing an element.
