double ehaust on buggy and makin faster

ok I have a lightning RR made from hotbodies.
I'd like to know(roughly) what it would cost to put on a dual exhaust coming out of the back or making a single ehaust come out the back?
is this hard to do or quite easy?

I would also like to speed it up. I dont want to spend much anywhere up to $50 to make it faster. I"d like a 2 speed but I've only seen them for $100.

So if anyone can list some parts to get the buggy going faster leme know.

first off those exhausts you see on ebay with dual pipes comming out the back, are crap. a good exhaust is just a better tuned version of what your buggy has now comming out the side.

there are a few ways to go faster, but that depends on your definition of faster. with your current engine, you can have either higher top speed, or more accelleration, not both without using a 2 speed. for more top speed get a new clutchbell with 1-2 more teeth on than you are using right now. for more accelleration but lower top speed, get a new clutchbell with 1-2 fewer teeth than you are using right now. a proper tuned exhaust will also help out with either low end grunt or high rpm power. what engine are you using now?

the most dramatic way to go faster is to buy a more powerful engine, but thats not going to happen on your $50 budget. you may be able to pick up a new clutchbell, and a good condition used pipe for that much though. also using 30% fuel instead of 20% will give you a power boost.
on the subject of 2 speeds, i dont like them in offroad cars. most MT's have sealed transmissions so they can use a 2 speed without problems, but an open trans like a buggy has, invites dust and dirt into the one-way bearing that makes the 2 speed work, and ruins it. open trans 2speeds are for onroad use only.

get a dual exhaust if you want your buggy to look cool, or something. Get it if you want to "pimp your ride" Get a nice 063 low end tuned pipe if you want to win races. I have had great results with the ofna 063.

I thought if u change to a new % of fuel it's bad on the engine?
I'm running the .21 engine that it came with.
I was wondering how many teeth does the clutchbell on the stock lightning have?
I was thinking to go with accel to help in turns for dirt racing...Since the straight aways aren't that large.
Also what is the avg. cost for an aluminum gas tank? I was thinking about getting one so I can jump without breaking mine again....

when switching to a new fuel, you will have to retune, that is all.

if you want low end help, get a 12T clutchbell and a jammin JP1 pipe.

forget the aluminum tank, just replace your plastic one and learn to land the jumps.

I'll have to look for that pipe.

also I land the jumps fine I just hit the launch at the skatepark and got easy 10 feet of air maybe 12...and bottom'd out on tar...didn't end up the way I wanted too...Was planning just to watch my friend to backflips with his t-maxx..

well then id say leave the skateparks for the MT's, they are built to handle it. a buggy is built for racing.

10 feet and busted the tank?? you had to land wrong.. ive personaly seen 10-12 feet and 68 feet out and land with no problems.. then theres that house jumping video..

Maybe with a monster truck. Not with a 1/8th scale buggy especially on tar.

a guy washitting a ramp full speed and hit like 50-60 feet and landed on top of a roof. he smashed into it at full speed a couple times before, but didnt brake nothin serious. just "popped" stuff.
