I'm such an idiot....
Ok - so I got the Mayhem broken in. I set the needles at home, rich..., figuring I can tune for speed when I get to the track.
I get to the track, with about 45 minutes of light. I'm in a hurry, start it up and drive around for a couple of minutes. I figure I may as well tune for speed. Well, I'm in a hurry, it's getting dark, the buggy got dirty....and I get frustrated, moving the needles too much and not letting enough time go by to see if my settings are good. Bottom line? Didn't run the buggy that well. It kept on stalling. I got frustrated and went home. That's what I get for not taking my time when I should have. Next day, I tune it at home. I'm calm. Everything tunes just right in 5 minutes. Go figure Boy, when you guys say to take your time with a new engine, and be patient, you sure weren't kidding. Lesson learned....downside is that I need to travel for work for a week and then I go on vacation the week after. I can't run my new Mayhem for the next two weeks! I ruined my only chance to run it at the track by being impatient!

Dont be so hard on yourself , at least you learned from your mistakes, I would be anxtious too if I had a new rc lol. To bad the motor diddnt come from the factory broken in already so all you had to do was to take it out of the box and go do some bashing!!!

Be patient? What's that?!? Don't worry, we've all done that before. What happened to me was I was all excited to run my Schumacher Fusion21 last year and I couldn't wait for the track to be open. Needless to say, I ran in the parking lot while the track was being set up and I got a rock stuck in my belt. I frayed the belt (only has one) and the strands wrapped around the diff pulley's (both front and back). Locked everything up! Took me almost an hour to get everything free. Still ruined the pulley's by wearing a groove in it.
I don't have it anymore but I hope the guy I sold it to has patience. It's a monster! |

Hey.. at least you got some run time with it... It would be even worse if the engine wouldn't start the whole time at the track. You gotta look at the bright side of things. And you get to go on vacation! im sure you'll have fun without your car for a week or so. Im all excited to get my rc10gt, but i still have to wait another week
Im sure the next time you go to the track you'll have er' all tuned up and ready to go for the max time you are there that always feels good
