Good Buggy?

Is the hot bodies lightning a good buggy. I am looking at one for sale and i was woundering if they are a good basher. I don't want to spend alot on a buggy i just want something to have fun with bashing without a lot of stuff getting recked.

People who own that one really seem to like it, if the buggy looks to be in good shape, go for it, parts are inexpensive and available everywhere.

I have seen the lightning at the track, and it ran good .although the driver didn't do as well. I have found the truth to the saying (Slow is Fast) .If it is a good deal go ahead and jump on it

Some1 already started a fourm on this already,...... Its is a very inexpensive buggy 2 go w/ but unless your hobby shop has ALOT of parts for it DONT BUY IT. I had a HotBodies Tornado and my hobby shop didnt have parts for this car, due 2 its the low popularity an i had 2 wait a mounth for new a-arms and shock towers. And if your anything like me u cant go a mounth without driving.

Lightning what? I have the Pro 2, and it is a nice buggy IMO, but it can be bothersome trying to get parts sometimes. On the bright side though, I can say that the only reason I broke it was from a run away into a tree. Other than that, if you stay away from those trees I have tumbled lots of times, and only ended up with scratches, and a broken wing, and wing stay one time. Back to which buggy. Parts for the RR 2 (RTR) are easier to find, and the 1's aren't too bad either. If the price is right, I would go for it.

I got the Pro 2 with a Wasp .26 and I like it especially since it's my first buggy. I have trucks and cars, but the buggy runs completely different than all my nitros. I ran the buggy for the first time yesterday in a race which was the last race for the season since it is getting too cold out and even though it was only my second time racing on a dirt track, the buggy handled really good and I wasn't even really trying to race against the experienced drivers, I was just racing for myself to see how it handled.

Is the XTM XTerminator RTR deluxe any better than the lightning pro 2??

i would throw both up in the air and break them, whichever one is fixed sooner (parts availability) is the better car.

It's a little hard to compare these two because one is RTR and one is a kit. As for handling the Pro 2 might be a little better. The X-Terminator comes with a great engine, XTM 24.7, and a radio for about the same cost as a Pro 2 kit, which you will still need a engine and a radio. For value I would say the X-Terminator is a bettetr buy.

If you have a hobby people next to you the x-terminator might be a great choice. Unlike my hyper-7 which alot of shops dont have parts for it. If a part breaks for me its about an hour and some change to get parts from ofna itself. I would check the price of spare parts. since diffrent cars , parts are either cheap or expensive! watch your budget. .2

I have the new x-terminator "PRO" and i havent broken ANY parts yet!!!! I got it in JULY... I am a wild driver and when i went to the track, i really sucked, crash after crash. NO DAMAGE except for the anntena thing came off. that is the most annoying thing on the buggy... I say get the x-term deluxe... its about the same as the pro and costs lots less money if you are not picky about having like the best engine and a great radio and stuff.... MY

If you want to race, that XTM 24.7 isn't legal. That is if anyone at your local track cares. The good thing about either RTR versions is the price, and all the Pro stuff fits it. That way if you do brake something, you can replace it with the Pro version. My biggest beef with the RTR's is the crapy chasis braces. We can go on, and on about the differances.

I just read the first post, and noticed you said basher, so I say go with the RTR, and upgrade as need.

I know nothing about the engine that comes with the Lightning RR, but I have also heard good things about the XTM 24.7. Any have any expeiriance with the HB engine?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the HB engine is the same as the HPI S-25 savage engine. If so, its a decent engine but the 24.7 would kick its ass lol. I've ran the 24.7 and an S-25 in my X-Terminator and with the 24.7 it is much faster. I say go with the RTR.
