Big Grin PCR Pro Problems for me

Ok I am finally putting my New Picco 26 through break in. It was going through fine till my son had a nature call and had to cut the first tank short. ANyways I filled her up again and she was running fine. I let her roll around on very little throttle. SUDDENLY she went WOT and I could not stop her. It did this off and on. Luckily I got her back the first time.Unfortunately she did it again and this time she went straight for a tree and then bounced from that to be turned around to go at a wall!!! Well she got lodged underneath a drinking fountain and revved uncontrollably!! I pinched her fuel line off to shut her down. I am afraid to start her up again till I am sure I have eliminated the problem

I am thinking Radio glitch, or dirty carb. I put RTV on the backplate and at the top of the neck on the carb. I let that cure for a good 48 hours.

I need help on this one. Not sure what is causing this or where to look really.

HELP!!!!

Sounds like the batts in your transmitter or receiver were getting low. You could have also be getting interference from somewhere or someone else.

Do you have a failsafe on it?

I thought of the Tx. I have the XR3i with rechareable batts. The meter read 10.1 and the battery may be low . I have the Ofna Micro failsafe and have been happ with that in my old MGT. I was thinking some ASS Clown was trying to be funny and screw with me. I do know that there was a kid down the street that has a Mammoth but not too sure if he was running it. anyways. I will dump the transmitter batteries for Alkalines and recharge my receiver pack and try again later.

do you think that crap in the carb may cause this to happen?

Thanks Rob

I just don't see how crap in the carb would cause it to go wot. I can see making it run hot thought. 10.1v in the transmitter should be fine. I was running mine today down to 9.2 untill my failsafe kicked in on the Revo. It was my last tank of the day and I was trying to milk the batts. Didn't make it.

Ok just checked the RX and reads 6.3 Volts. I do use a switch with a charge jack as well so I don't have to remove the pack all the time. First time with this problem

I did replace my TX rechargeable batts with alkalines. Reads 12.7 instead of 10.1

any other advice on this matter?

Novak XXL FM Reciever. Crystals are new but I can check to see if they are loose.

try eliminating the switch. just plug the pack directly into the receiver and see if it helps. i had problems with intermittent runaway too, and it turned out to be a switch. the failsafe cant work if it doesnt have the juice to move the servo.

Ok I tried it out again today and found the same thing. I did notice that my Flywheel was runbbing against a brake screw so I am hoping that was the culprit. I am also going to check out the receiver and crystals. I know that both are new and the previous set up was fine but this set up is more compact so I opted for them. I will try to fix one problem first then the other and will let you guys know.

Ok I changed the Btteried on both the RX and TX. Fixed the Rubbing of my flywheel on one of my brake screws. My flywheel is a bit worn down now but otherwise works. I am going to change crystals and try it out tomorrow.

I do notice that when I rev it up a little bit is when it accellerates uncontrollably? I have to hold the brakes till it stops. Sounds like a radio glitch.

Any ideas?

Jon

check all athe terminals are clean and you have no broken or semi broken wires, sounds like its either interference or theres somthing not right at the receiver end, pull the bottom off the reciever and check theres no moisture there, if its glitching like that its not rcving signal or its only getting powere to one side of the servo forcing it to open full throttle, if you got a spare receiver and servo just replace each one till you elliminate what the problem is, if you havent then borrow someone elses gear so you can try it out, try reciever then servo, then control, if that fails someones fucking with ya!!!!!!!!!!

OK I didn't swap Rx's but I did notice on the JP2 pipe I forgot the Gasket that goes on the pipe so I thought that the glitching was from that.

NOPE!!

Tried that and damn it nothing...O sorry I got something. The engine went wild again. Still had the a hold of it but now I am getting Pissed. I am thinking of taking it to my LHS to see what they say. Hopefully they will find what is wrong.

Anyone have a similar problem?I really want to bash this weekend. Please help me fellas. The LHS will charge me a grip to just have a look at it.

HELP
