GS Storm RTR
I was just wondering what everyone's opinion of this buggy is. Like, what are the pros and cons, what should I upgrade, are the stock tires good, ect.
I am thinking of buying one NIB on ebay for $400 then selling the XR3i and use my 2PL on it. |

I have a Storm Pro....and...
Pro's of the RTR Storm.
1) Spares, I have had no problem with getting them. (In UK) 2) GS01 engine is very good. 3) No a bad car overall if you spend the time to set it up right and maintain it. Con's 1) You'll need spares. They break a lot. 2) Stock exhaust is/muffler is so damn loud it'll wake the dead. 3) GS01 Engine is a pain to tune. 4) Prepainted shell is a boring as hell. 5) Bad rep. If its a rtr you are after, for the more or less the same money i'd go for a Hyper 7 PBS first or a HB Lightening2 rtr. That said I've had my Pro for 2 years and still have decent results and I don't break much. |

I'm going to confirm that the stock pipe is VERY loud. I'd swap it out when you can.

I picked up a used Storm and the only parts that I have broken/bent have been:
2 lower suspension arms 1 hinge pin 1 steering plate (just bent back into shape and put back on) The only things not stock on the buggy: servos, hinge pin braces, and wheels/tires. IMHO, the only weak points are the shock towers, and most RTRs have that problem. Although, I haven't bent or broken one yet. The B01 is one heck of a motor. Runs pretty strong, have heard a lot of good things about them. But they are a lower end motor when it comes to power. Matt |

I say get the Storm. I changed out the front and rear shock towers, drag link and bought the hard anodized chassis from Dynamite. I already wore out the GS engine and I now run the XTM .21 pro. I truly love this buggy. I raced electric for many yrs and this is my first gas. ( I am 30 now ) I would recomend getting the dual rate shock springs or different shocks. I seem to bend shafts. ( could be my driving)<<<LOL. Good luck and let us know if you get one.

I have the Storm ARR, same buggy but needs motor & electrics. I upgraded it with the Pro front and rear shock towers, Pro steering plate, Pro front and rear chassis braces. I have a Ofna Hyper Port in it now, but have run an OS21RG mostly. The car is great and durable. Parts are not a problem for me, to get and can be found online if not at your LHS. Most RTR's have their own little problems. I'd say get the Storm and run the stock motor, I've seen the stock motor run and it's pretty much a low end motor similar to my OS21RG,, but plenty fast enough for racing or bashing. Good luck.
