Storm Pro/RBS7II gearing question

Hey everyone,

I just picked up a used Storm Pro for cheap and i ordered a RBs7II. What Clutchbell do you guys reccomend? I may race later this year but for now im just bashing around the UC Berkeley campus... dirt/pavement/grass. Thanks

The stock 13T clutchbell will work just fine for bashing. Going up or down in size would depend on what kind of track you'll be running on. Tight, technical tracks would favor a smaller clutchbell whereas long wide open type tracks would make that RB really scream with a larger clutchbell.

clutch setup for those motors.. i run Kyosho 1.1 springs.. with drilled composite shoes..

Tried aluminum shoes.. didnt like them.. too much maintenence.. and couldnt get the car to stick..

i use the fioroni sliding clutch (carbon) on my kanai 3 (also have ws7II) i stay on a short tight track with good traction...my set up has tons of low end punch..it makes it easier to take the double...you need less take of room, and your flight through the doubles will be lower and faster.

it can be a bit slippery on dusty tracks.

so do i want later engagement? I heard that the C5 loves later engagement because the powerband is high in the RPMs but how about the s7ii ? It cant rev nearly as high

the S7II is different than the WS7II.. both are high rev motors.. and they are both great on the bottom end.. been said that they are dogs on the bottom end.. but i have never had a problem. The C5 is a great motor as well.. running tighter springs.. will allow for later engagement.. which is what you want for higher RPM motors.. because you dont want them to bog on the low end
