Which buggy is this? any good?
Hi,
I was after a buggy (mainly bashing, but later possibility of racing if I want to) and I have been doing some research I have the two following buggys in mind. HB lighting Pro (or pro 2) Hoboa/Ofna Hyper 7 (PBS, PCR) I was recently looking at rcmart and came across the following buggy, and it really confused me can anyone help identify it? http://www.*********/catalog/product...oducts_id=7433 NOTE: replace *** above with rcmart .com I looked both on the Ofna site and the Hoboa site and am unable to find a buggy which matches this one. At first it looks like a hyper 7 PBS but this one has laydown servo and the description (on pc mart) mentions PCR. The pictures on the first page look like a PBS (with a few changes), but then if you click the "more pictures #1" link it shows you the picture of the box where it calls it a PBS but the picture on the box looks like the PCR...? I have tried looking for the model numbers around the net (M7PCR-E) but can only find M7PBS-E and M7PBS-S (hobao site). I thought that only Ofna did PCR (modified Hoboa hyper 7). Could RCMart have made a mistake and put the wrong info there? Could it be a new model / old Model that isn’t listed on the Hoboa site? Need help and more info on these buggys, can anyone help thanks.. P.S PCMart also have a Hyper 7 Pro-S (branded as Ofna m7pcr-s, which again is similar to the Hyper7 Pro from Ofna but has a few different components, and again is not listed on either Ofna/Hoboa websites) Last edited by Morespam; 5-06-2004 at 11:56 PM. |

I myself out of those two buggies would pick the PCR. It seems to be a more updated design and I myself like the double laydown servo idea. Smaller diffs on the PCR are a plus two imo. Ofna seems to be everywhere so you know support won't be a problem where I have heard mixed stories from the other vendor. I have never owned either so take that into consideration. You seem to get a little more bang for your buck with the PCR. Lots of buggies to chose from these days so it is hard!

Hi,
thanks for the reply. I live in Aus (and we dont have that much choice down here ) so I have to get something I can get spares for easy localy. There is a bit of Ofna down here, and the HB (also known as slacker here) is avalible and can take a few M7.5 parts as well. I am going to order the buggy from overseas as the inital cost will be much less (about 800-1000 for a decent bugy in aus), but spares I will get localy. Anyone delt with PCmart befor? anygood? P.S what about the model discrepancies? |

That is the new Hyper 7 PCR PBS. It is the PBS with all the Paul Coleman Racing upgrades. I was looking into getting that buggy, but after seeing it run, I am glad I got the storm. Plus I am alot faster and setup better ( at stock ) than he was.
