what buggy?

hey guys, i'm going to be buying a 1/8 buggy over summer, and i need some help on what to get. i will be bashing 90% of the time, but will race at my track once in a while. it needs to be super durable, powerful, and fast, and it can't cost more than $450. this isn't my 1st nitro, so yes, i do have experiance.

my first pick is the xtm x-terminator deluxe, but iwas wondering what you guys thought.

thanks

The best buggy you can afford that your lhs stocks parts for.

I would say go with a ofna 9.5 or 7 but that is because I have a ofna 9.5 It is fast and seems track ready. I told my self I wasnt going to race it but now that I have it.... I am going to race its guts out.

I love the violator, I never had a buggy before but this flys about as fast as a rustler and it is strong so far I havnt jumped it at all, but I have fliped it from Turning to much at High speed and it seems race ready so if you track has a sportman or some other group you can race like I will be doing. The only think I dislike about it is its HP it is a .26 and only puts out 2.4 HP... please rember I also Have a savage so anything is fast and turns better than that. lol

I also have some unedited videos if you want to see it running.

GS storm all the way. The gs is a great buggy, plenty fast, great support, parts availble everywhere. Just make sure to replace shock towers w/ pro versions.

You guys got me confused now. Like Nitro_Freak, I am also gonna get a buggy and race it this year. I was looking at this 1/8 scale buggy article in RC Nitro Magazine: http://www.rcnitro.com/rn/articles/buggy_showd6.asp

Their top picks were the Kyosho Kanai 7.5 KE, followed by the Mugen MBX-4 XR, followed by the Ofna 9.5, followed by the Thunder Tiger EB-4 Limited.

You guys have any comments on these picks?

I think Mugen, and Ofna are alot alike I think. The Kanai is over priced, but very nice. Don't know anything about the Thunder Tiger. I like my Lightning, it's just hard to find parts for it around here, but it is a new mill. Also for $450 I have to agree I would think about the GS.

I have a Hyper 7 PCR and have not broken anything yet.The only problems I have had with it are 1 set screw fell off the rear drive shaft and 2 wheel nuts. All i do is jump it and it keeps coming back for more.

ok, i have a decision to make. i have a nitro rustler currently, and it runs great and all, but it breaks all the time, usually within the 1st 5 minutes of bashing. now, i still like driving it, it's a crapload of fun (when it's not broken), but i'm wondering if i should sell it. if i do sell, i can probably get around $200 (pics, scroll down to the bottom for most recent pic: www.freewebs.com/jnevpics/myrcs ), so i'll be able to get the x-terminator deluxe, but if i keep it, and maybe give it to my little brother, i'll only be able to get the regular x-terminator. help!!

thanks
