Need Advice On Pull Start

I just picked up a new Hyper PBS with the starter box. The guys at performance R/C in Burlington WA told me the box was the best thing since sliced bread, well they are a bunch of clowns, the box is a piece of sh**. I had asked for pull start parts and was talked out of it by these yahoo's. So know I need to put in a pull start if I am ever going to get this thing started. So which parts do I need to perforn this operation. Thanks for the help and sorry for babbling.

What is wrong with the starter box? Are you trying to break in the engine? Breaking in .21 engines can be a little difficult. There are a few things you can do to help start the engine. Either warm the engine up with a hair dryer/heat gun or loosen the glow plug about a quarter of a turn, start the engine and then tighten the plug. Make sure your battery has a good charge. Breaking in and first tuning an engine will kill the starter box pretty quick because of the constant use.

Dude don't get the pull-start....The guys at your lhs were right. The starter box is the best thing since sliced bread. Just not the one that comes with the PBS. The box that comes with the PBS is the worst one on the market. Just save your money and get a good starter box. 90% of all real racers will say get a good box. Unless you like pull starts go for it. If not get a box

Yes the ride is new, and I have tried all the tricks heat up the motor with a hair drier and this starter box won't turn it over for anything, even with the glow plug out. It is very frustrating to spend that kind of money and not be able to do anything with it, all the buddies are racing theres around. If the hyper box was so bad you think the hobbie store would have let me know instead of wanting to tick me off, know I will shop online instead of with them.

It won't turn over the motor with the glowplug OUT? I mean, a 1.5v radio shack motor could turn over an engine with the plug out.

Did you put batteries in the box? Are they charged? Hooked up correctly?

Starter boxes are the best, they make using your R/C much more enjoyable.

Its 12v and I hooked it straight up to the battery on my pickup and no luck. Just got back from my buddies and we tried to start his hyper on it and its broken in already and no luck just boggs down. This starter box is the one Ofna gives with the ride and quality it is not. I don't know what they were thinking when they stopped putting in pull starts if you can't do anything with the box. It looks like it may have to go up on ebay and I will get another brand with a pull start, can't seem to get any info on wether this ride can be swapped over to pull or not and have wasted two days and can't even turn it over enough to prime, what a joke.
