I feel like a broken record, but here goes. What your friend has is a high compression engine. These can sometimes be hard to start when breaking in. Do not rely on the cheap starter box that came with the kit. At this point it is useless. Loosen the glow plug enough to decrease compression and heat the engine with a hair dryer or heat gun. Wearing a glove during breakin may save you a blister or two. You may want to search this site for other tips, but I think I covered the best and only method.

Use the pullstart to start it, if the buggy came with one. For some reason Ofna isn't shipping the PBS's now with pullstarts, so if he doesn't have a pullstart, do as stated above and loosen the plug and heat up the engine with a heat gun or hairdryer. OR, get a high torque starter box and do it that way.
I had to break mine in with the pullstart, because just like his the starter box wouldn't turn it over untill it was broken in.

Sorry. I did'nt realize there was no pullstart included on the engine. Shame on Ofna for knowing the crappy starter box will not work. Oh hell. Just buy a pull starter or drop another wad on a better box like Gil said. My apolagies.

Well his might have a PS, but I noticed on the last 2 PBS' we've gotten in the LHS that there wasn't a PS on it. When I got mine I'm sure glad it came with a PS.

I think I read somewhere in here that it's also a good idea to add a few drops of ARO to also help. I imagine most of the internal lube that the factory applied has probably settled in the bottom of the block and a few drops on top of the piston might be a good idea. Try to avoid cranking over a dry engine,

The motor is going to be tight. Take a hair dryer or heat gun to it before you start it (don't cook it ) she should start right up. Also make sure it is not flooded, it may have hydrolic lock from the all the fuel. Caution this is just my opinion. I don't like telling people how to tune there motor but just trying to help

I am pretty sure the PBS does not come with a pull start, but you might want to get a new starter box. Once again just my opinoin
