I know only one thing about CEN buggies/trucks. That there is no parts support for them where I live. I wouldn't know a CEN buggy if it passed my Storm on the track. I wonder if parts support for CEN and some of the less popular rides is geographic specific. I mean, are the parts more available in certain parts of the country ? Just curious.

Did they say it was CEN making it? Or is that the blurb where they said 'a certain 3-letter company...' cause I thought they were insinuating that HPI was thinking about making one... Which I'd live to see (and buy). There is no support for CEN anywhere other than the 'net (as far as I know), and I haven't heard the most pleasing feedback from some of their customers...

I would really like to see Team LOSI put out an 1/8th scale Pro buggy.
They make some of the most precision, well crafted products in my opinion...

Kraut, I also thought they were talking about HPI... I was really hoping HPI would put out an 1/8 buggy. Just about ever hobby store around carries lots of HPI parts. If they did, it'd be sweet...many many more people would get into 1/8 buggies.

It said Gene will be racing CEN's new monster truck, stadium truc, and testing their new 1/8 buggy this season. page 55 issue 101. That's all it said.

Nope, definitely not... I'm not a realy big fan of HB stuff (at least their hop-up parts), but their buggies get ok reviews...

I think I was thinking of a very short blurb in last month's RC Car Action were they mentioned an unamed 3-letter company... hopefully it wasn't CEN and this is just a coincidence:cross:

HPI and Hot Bodies are both owned by a guy from Japan....check out the hobby shows sometime, and you'll see him wandering between the two booths. Even the marketing is very similar between the two companies. Notice that they don't have a lot of cars that compete with each other in the various R/C markets, be it buggies, touring cars, or whatever.

It's quite a brilliant strategy from a money standpoint, one company charges a lot of money for a lot of their parts because HPI can be known as "high-end" in some circles, and HB is the "cheap" side...all from one factory.

So technically, HPI has a buggy out there already! It's just not called an HPI.

In Taiwan and China, everyone knows everyone else. America is pretty secretive comparatively.

We now return you to your normal CEN thread. There were CAD drawings of their new buggy in an issue of R/C Car a few months ago, maybe October or November.
