another way to cool?

Will this really work? Has anyone used one of these? (It's a flywheel with a fan to blow air on the engine.) Cool idea anyway.

I guess it could work. Looks to me like it would reduce the rotational mass of the flywheel and make it 1) spool up quicker, and 2) make it harder to get the engine to idle low. The fan action I can only see helping cool the CB, but not the engine.

that would work pretty well from my knowledge, they use something like that on garden tractor transmissions. i wonder if it would fit my XTM 24.7 or does it only fit ofna's?

Sure it does, it adds to the coolness factor!

It sure doesn't seem like this would do *nothing* seeing as that flywheel can spin awefully fast. It might help lower the engine temp by ten degrees or so during normal operation, and especially at idle.

I wonder if it robs any power from the engine. If it does, it's probably not much.
