depends on what you want. i'd suggest the ofna line of inline pipes, they're inexpensive and do the job well. however, if you'r racing, they're not legal - and if that's the case, you can the get novarossi version. by the way, there's no real difference except for the efra stamp.

063 = bottom end
053 = mid range
086 = top end

i put an 086 pipe in my buddy's hyper and it has alot of topend, w/o giving up too much on the bottom.

either way, any of those 3 will be better than the stock.

Contrary to popular belief, the 063 doesn't offer any more bottom end than the 086 pipe. The 086 style of pipe will increase engine output throughout the power band. The 063 style will reduce power poutput throughout the band but decrease fuel consumption. Because the power increase of the 086 pipe is felt the most at high RPM, alot of racers will use the 063 pipe for smaller tracks to help get more laps per tank. Using a short or long header will determain if the power output is better at the bottom or the top of the engine's rpm range. Installing a nice 086 pipe will help the best.

I use a cheap dynamite 1/8 pipe in my hyper 21, and either it works great or I'm too dumb to know the difference.

Skyline - Ofna pipes are perfectly legal for sanctioned racing. they do make some that are outlaw pipes, but not all. I am not sure which ones arnt legal. The easiest way to tell is to look on the side for an EFRA number. If it doesn't have one. It isnt legal. Although that rule is primarily for international competition, they may not be that strict in regional races. I am not 100% sure.

Where did you hear that they were illegal?

I run an Ofna 086 pipe on my RB S7 Europa in an MBX-5. It works like a charm.

This is a lot of good info on pipes. What characteristics of a pipe make better power at different rpm ranges, fuel consumption, and how about the header? Shorter header does what? and long header does what? Diameter?

just a few questions

A shorter header increases top speed, a longer header increases bottom end.
