My Thunder Tiger EB4S2 brakes ok, but not very well...
I thought it was the servo not strong enough, but my lhs told me that wasn't it, and it wouldn't solve the problem. Should I get a new brake disc? Could it be a matter of tunning, if so how? Thanks Fil |

Yes its just a matter of tuning i think. When i got my Storm i could just nail the brake and it would spin out it would stop so fast. When i messed with the servo rods for the brake when i removed me engine it messed up and i barly have any brake now. Just mess with the servo rod going to the brake and get it right...I'm sorry i couldnt help you anymore

sorting the Brake on an EB4 S2 Pro is quite simple, no need to alter the position of the actuator arm collars (located on the rod connected to the servo) or anything else.
With my S2 Pro, i was advised, and have, screwed in the allen bolts retaining the pads by 2 full turns. On the other hand, your situation may only require a small adjustment. This method (above) is the EASIEST and FASTEST way of setting the brake up, it also removes the possibility of messing up the setting of the actuator arm. With my buggy, i can run it at full speed and confidently stop the buggy inside 2-4 meters dependant on terrain, the fitment of a SECOND brake (to the rearward end of the center diff [RECOMMENDED UPGRADE !!]) would increase braking ability many times over. The recommended setting for braking on a two disc arrangement is 60% front + 40% rear, although you can set this to your own needs. One final thing, and this is my own personal advice here, is to buy and fit a "Super Torque" servo to the throttle/brake in place of the original standard one. The steering servo on the other hand is a super torque one AS STANDARD. That does beg the question of why they didnt fit one to the throttle/brake as standard. Only time will tell i guess. Hope this helps out. Any Thunder Tiger EB3 or EB4 S2 Pro questions, just ask. Last edited by Thunder_Tiger_EB4_S2_Pro; 7-17-2005 at 12:33 PM. |

The reply may be late but it is useful.
I own two EB4-S2 Pro buggies and one has the 2nd brake convesion fitted, but being a UK spec, it has no center diff. My new one has a center diff (upgrade - fitted by myself) but only a brake on the front wheels. I am doing the second brake conversion to thos buggy over the weekend. Admittedly the trick of tightening the allen caps on the brake caliper is a good idea |

Sorry Guys,
New to the boards, so didnt know the age of the post. There are plenty of "Shortcuts" on the EB3 & EB4, it just comes down to logic and studying. As i said though, if anyone needs info on an EB3 or EB4 just ask. |
