Storm pushes in corners

My storm pushes bad in corners. It is possible to power into the corner, hit the brakes to drift the back end out, and blast in the right direction, but it is hard to do consistently. Does anyone have a setup (diff oils, swaybars etc) to reduce understeer?

try going alil lighter in center diff , and remove the front sway bar


what are your settings right now ? (diffs/shocks/camber/toe in or out/caster) ?

What steering servo do you have? They way I hit the corners is: First my brakes are set light at best, they meerly slow me down a little (its the way I like it) I hit the corner hard, let off throttle 5 feet from the corner, barley feather my light breaks and turn the wheel ever so slightly to swing the ass around, as I am doint this I let go of the wheel and hit the throttle hard when I am pointed straight and don't start steering until my traction has hooked back up all the way. It's really hard to describe it would be better to see in person, but guys are always asking my strategy at the track as I hit corners fast with this style. I found when my brakes where tight that when I would feather them before the corner it would make my buggy slide at the wrong angle and go squirly. Some guys swear by tight breaks but I really can't drive like that. I had the quad brakes on my Storm and downgraded to dual disc as this fits my cornering style.

HB, I think that is what I am trying to do, but it is hard to do consistently. If I get in too deep, it just plows straight ahead, and I have to almost stop to get strainghted out.

Slothy, thanks, I have heard that before about removing the fr sway bar. I guess you want to transfer bite to the outside front tire. I am running stock shocks with 40 wt, and dual GS springs, short=soft, long= medium. I don't know what is in the diffs.

Yep! Like dirt bikes, it is an absolute blast to practice, but safer (if not cheaper)!

HB, I have a good Airtronics servo.

I'm also going to try multiple diff oil wts that I heard about, 7000 fr, 3000 mid, 1000 rear. Wouldn't it also help to run stiffer springs in the back to transfer weight forward? Im also thinking about putting more aggressive tires in the front.

What is your camber or angle degree of the wheels? (front and rear) this makes a real big difference on how it corners.

ok I am not talkig toe here but camber if you look at your wheels from the front of your buggy at ground level do the tilt in or out?

First off Christian turned me on to this tool, and to be honest I don't know how I got by without it!!!!



So big props to Christian for showing me that tool.

He also turned me on to this which is another must have for a racer or aspiring racer.



I always liked -4 through -6 in the back and play around from -2 through -4 in the front. -5 in the back and -3 in the front are really solid places to start. Good luck scott and have some fun out there will ya.

Sorry forgot to put they are made by RPM and can be found here http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/

They are very affordable, I think I paid like $10 a piece if I remember right.
