Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

That should work nicely then, but you may need more servo to stop well. I ran a hitec 985MG which had 172oz @6V when I ran the single CF disk. It did pretty well. I'm running dual CF disks on my savageX now, with the same servo. It endo's if I get to aggressive with the brake. Had to dial it...

Is the disk fiber of some sort?

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

Yeah, was hands down the better truck between it and the t-maxx. The smaller tamiya tnx wasn't bad either.

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

The flux and X use the same center bones, so no upgrades there. I do have the "flux" outer bones, which are twice as thick. Don't know why HPI never did that with the centers. Especially on the extended trucks. I have 2 in the mail already as well as a few cups. I ran over 12 gallons through my...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

Well, the pipe or tires helped it seems. After richening it up a bit, seemed to perform well. Was just very "light switchy". Ran 500cc's through it, broke 2 rear center axles... one bone and one cvd pin. Then rain storms showed up. One of the tires I put on was seriously out of balance. Will...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I ran traxxas 3.8 sized wheels/tires on my aftershock, so I needed to gear up. I did the gear flip which adds +1, then later got +2 pinions and threaded bell from RCMonster to end up with +3 over stock. With the LRP28 in it, it still wheelied on demand, but was fairly quick. Ended up having...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I don't recall having to take the trans apart to get it out. Although, I had the aftershock, so maybe it differed. I think you had to pull the engine to get the trans out though. I didn't have mine out that often, other than to do the "gear flip mod" and replace the input shaft a couple times...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

Yeah, I remember it not being the most fun task. For primers, I really like the associated primer bulb. Couple extra zipties on it and they work really well. Also gives you more run time on your roof! I need all of that I can get! lol!

Did you also remove the primer from the tank and seal that off?

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I never had much issue running plastic spurs, but I also ran the hard anno'd skid plate that had the wing that went out under the spurs. I bent an input shaft or two which would cause the spurs to get all chewed up until I got that.

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

Perhaps the o-rings are dried/shrunk/formed to the size of the cylinder they are trying to seal and letting air by. I've had that issue on old engines that sat for a long time. In some cases, it would be so bad that the vibration of the engine would turn the screws and adjust the tune as it ran...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I know one of the first things most people did with the LST* was to remove the primer and seal it off. Guess they are prone to sucking air. Did you check your header gasket? It may have degraded and is leaking pressure there too. How long did it sit since you last ran it?

The CEN Reeper/genesis should still be around. It still exists. I think this was the TNX body: Found a photo of the genesis body next to the LST2 body I have, the orange one in the middle on the left: Can't recall what body that is on the savage in the upper right, but that's a 1" HB...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I went through a couple MGT bodies on the aftershock, the genesis body and I think even a tamiya TNX body. 4 years... 4 bodies... seems about right. The aftershock body was very thin. The TNX one was thicker. The MGT one held up quite a while. I just got whatever was cheap and fit. There were...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I have one of those LST2 bodies in the closet I never used. I ran CEN Genesis or MGT bodies usually, but won the LST2 body cheap off ebay many years ago and never used it. MGT body I think: Had plenty of clearance for the LRP28 I ran in it most of it's life. Before I switched to 17mm hubs:

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

Yeah, I think I used full force rc's carbon fiber disk, which doesn't exist anymore. I made my own roll bar for mine... was totally hack, but protected the engine and helped keep the body from crumpling on roof landings. I think it was 5/16" steel rod... and a lot of bends. lol! Was one...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

The aftershock brakes were horrible. Steel pads and steel disk. The center of the disks would wear, then they would bind at an angle, then chatter/bind the brakes. Can't recall what I did to remedy it... think I went with a fiber disk or fiber pads. Think I ended up with a single thick CF disk...

Oh geez, I completely forgot about that! Your right!

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

Nope. I use 4 zipties on them, one on each end of the bulb and one on each fuel line. I have had them on all my nitros for many years without issue. Well, once there was fuel in one when I put it on the shelf for months, then it turned into gel and I had to take it apart and rinse it out. Other...

Getting back to running Losi LST(2)?

I looped it around the shock tower to the filter, then back around to an associated primer bulb that rested on the spur side of the tank.
