    Lipo Question

When referencing IR, you are always checking a fully charged battery, this is what is used to check the health of the battery. You need to get IR readings of each cell when brand new and then monitor the IR over time, replace the battery as soon as 1 cell is more than 1-2 mΩ apart from the others.

    Lipo Question

Another option is to buy a separate IR meter similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/ALLOSUN-Battery-Internal-Resistance-Analyzer/dp/B01FHF1AHO Only problem is that you need to carefully check each individual cell from the balance port. IR meter and temp gun are what I consider to be...

    Lipo Question

I was trying to cover both bases, in the context of preparing the battery for disposal, it all depends on the wattage of the bulb you are using and the amount of watt hours that is still in the battery. My bulb discharger that I linked above will fully drain most batteries in 10-15 minutes ;)...

    Lipo Question

a fully discharged lipo is 3.0V/cell, though most folks try to set their LVC around 3.4V/cell to play it safe, more info here about the dangers of shunts forming on cells that have been over drained: https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-304a-safety-concerns-with-li-ion Using Watts Law...

    Lipo Question

I posted a link to a wide range of chargers above on post #3 For a balance between budget and quality I would recommend the X6: https://www.amainhobbies.com/junsi-icharger-x6-lilo-lipo-life-nimh-nicd-dc-battery-charger-6s-30a-800w-jun-x6amn/p1147362 It needs an PS where you can buy one already...

    Lipo Question

Reading voltage is the equivalent to checking the air pressure on your automobile tires, in order to check the wear of your tires you use a tread depth gauge where the equivalent to that is an IR meter for our batteries. If your charger doesn't have an IR meter then now is a good time invest in...

    Lipo Question

Tons of options to explore here which include tossing the battery into the trash after it's been discharged: https://www.wikihow.com/Dispose-of-Lipo-Batteries

    Lipo Question

I would argue that disabling LVC and run in car until the motor no longer runs, then let car remain on (radio off) until battery is completely dead will be sufficient, it's not best practice but will gitterdone, ha!
