I've been wanted these wheels for awhile, but I've been hesitant since the reviews were mixed. Half the reviewers says that they couldn't get the wheels to hold the beads. I know with a lot of these kind of things, there are many people who just have poor mechanical skills. So, I took a chance...
Last weekend I was on-call, and as luck would have it, I got the dreaded call to report to work. Not what I wanted to hear while I was enjoying a nice Saturday afternoon. The worst part was that it was a 7pm-7am shift. There went the weekend! 😠
Well, at least it was all over time. It was at...
Found some treble fishing hooks that are a size I like. I pinched in the barbs and grinded off the sharp points, and borrowed some red nail polish from one of my girls. I like it!
This little winch is pretty dang strong! Dragged my very heavy Scout across the floor with the brakes fully on. I...
They look great, they perform well, and the price is doable! Everyone should own one 😉
I always cringe when I see videos of winches, with steel cable, being used, and someone is standing near the cable giving maneuvering instructions.
Thank you!
Another thing I really like about this winch, that I forgot to mention, is that it actually uses a steel cable and not nylon cordage, like other brands.
I finally got a winch! Got this off Amazon for about $20, and it came with everything! The only thing it didn't come with is a hook. I bought this cool looking hook separately, but it's huge, and it actually doesn't hook on things too well. I'm going to find a fishing treble hook that's more...
Thank you, Sir! Of my 3 crawlers, the Scout is absolutely my favorite body. I feel that Redcat really nailed it, with the vehicle choice!
Turns out it isn't the old GTB. I just bought a brand new GTC, and the motors still went in reverse. It must be the stock esc. Simple fix; switched the motor...
Thank you!
While the platform is 1/10, the body is more like 1/8. I've never seen an actual Scout, so I don't know how big the 1:1 vehicles actually are.
No brass steering knuckles nor wheel weights. It's pretty good right now, but if I add any additional body bling, I'll try adding some lead strips to the inside of the wheels.
Tested out the new brass weights today on a full trail ride. I didn't notice any weight difference to the rig, but the trail/crawl performance was impressive!
No, while it was working, like it's supposed to, with the Flysky transmitter, the jerkiness was eliminated using the exponential adjustments. The throttle control was very smooth!
Then it just decided to run in reverse.
Got more brass bling to help with Jalapeno's top heaviness. An additional 160grams. The front gets a heavy 70g Treal diff cover, and the back gets a combined 90g inner portal covers.

The Gen8V2 has a jerky throttle control, so I tried to change the radio to my Flysky GT3 system...
