Well, he did shoot an email to Axial, which is owned by Horizon, which also owns Pro-Line. So... of course they would say try those 😜
But yeah, I put them in my Amazon cart. If nothing else I'll use them on an AX24 build and angle the heck out of them.
I haven't tried the Pro-Line ones. They do look nice. I'd be curious how soft those springs are. If I were to buy them, the only oil they would get would be a drop or two of silicone lube.
Try your shocks with very little oil in them. Just a couple drops. Then add a little weight to your truck...
Oil filled shocks on these little crawlers is detrimental to their performance. Air is probably the best viscosity because you'd have to use oil with the consistency of alcohol to be remotely scale, and that would just leak out. And I bet your springs keep your shocks fully extended most of the...
This truck has maybe $150 in mods.
Here's the parts list:
PN Racing motor/gearset/motor mount
Hot Racing steering links
PowerHobby 13mg servo (direct drop in servo)
Treal +5mm Extended Wheel Hexes
RC4WD 1.0 Stamped Steel Wheels
RC4WD 1.0 Rock Creeper tires
Carbon Fiber Frame Rails
The rest is...
Yeah? What of it? 😘
For simple, cheap upgrades for a good performing rig... all ya really need are steering knuckles, diff covers, servo, wheels and tires, brushed motor upgrade, and links. That'll get you going. Heck, a servo and motor will make them pretty decent.
One of my favs is carbon...
Oh yeah. They have a lot of SCX24 stuff, and a lot of their stuff looks a lot nicer these days. Hard to keep track of everyone making parts for these trucks.
That's cool. There are some cool bodies you can get for them. Here's one from Meus Racing that comes with a chassis, roll cage, interior, LED light bar, decals, etc. Hell it even includes a apare tire. You can buy the prepainted body in green or red, or the white one. To me, this is worth every...
Get a clear body. Use a paint brush and some acrylic lexan paint and paint the black details. They come with window masks. Apply them and rattle can the body your desired color with a can or Duratrax or Proline paint. Easy peasy.
I saw that one but was reluctant to share it because that's a ridiculous price for a body for one of these little trucks. Most of the takeoff bodies sell for around $25
They don't sell the painted bodies. You'll have to create a search on ebay to catch one for sale on there.
You can buy the clear bodies and paint it yourself. It's not hard.
