The Slash is one of the better Traxxas rc's for sure! You have to go to a 6mm output shaft in the diffs to use the xo, Revo, or maxx cvd's , the diff case and gears are the same. I have seen the stock Revo shafts cut shorter and used on the Slash also

Did a speed test today, geared 18/54 powered by a pair of Traxxas 3S 1400 packs that I used in the merv.
