After some tinkering with an Infraction I noticed the rear shocks might be made to fit this Daytona . Problem I’m having now is the rear shocks from a short corse truck are way to soft and to much travel for high speed asphalt oval racing. I managed to cobble together a set of Infraction...

Finally drove this in the track. It’s fast enough but the tires are no good and the rear shocks are way t on soft. Still needs some work. I’ll get something going with it later. It’s a shelf queen for now

Thanks for the kind words. This build was a little out of my wheel house. But I wanted to retire my SCT for next season and I found the body. If I was starting over I would use a 2WD associated short corse truck as it has the proper 325mm wheelbase and I could stagger the tire diameter. But I...

I added wiper marks and flattened the side windows and the rear. The clear paint helped the back window a lot. Enough to make it OK. Now I need to stiffen the shock oil and get a 3 s battery.

I found out the hard way that acetone is what cleans up polycarbonate paint. I put the inside masked over the glass and painted the chrome. And for the outside I just cut the spray on mask. But somehow I pulled the mask off the rear window. So after painting , I pulled the front and side masks...

Tamiya PS49. I will spray some into a jar and put it through my airbrush. Then I need to clean the airbrush.

I want to use my airbrush setup to spray on the panel lines and other details. Is acetone used to clean up polycarbonate paint ?

Got the stripes on. Then paint. White then salt with white at the front and then black and salt on that. Then a can of ps49 over black. Now I let it dry and wet want it . Touch up and clear.

Doing a doctor evil over here. I got the lasers set up. I put two lasers across from each other and lined them up. Then moved the body to center the rear tail light and the point on the hood scoop. I will mark this and tape it off. Hopefully I can get the stripe Straight. I found a better...

I got the inside base chrome coat and as expected it looks kinda cool. But the finish is really bad when you look at it. I am going to paint it blue and paint the stripes and weather it . But I wanted to see it in chrome and make the silver a base for when the paint gets scraped off in a race.

Found some springs for the front. The back is still not there but it’s good enough to get started. I found some traxxas springs from a Revo and they come is all sizes. I drove the rig around on a dead 2s battery. On a hot 3D battery it should be much faster. Now on to some painting .

Made a rear shock tower that uses the stock body mount and uses the front shocks at the rear. I really the n this will work. Tomorrow I’m going to the hobby shop for front springs or shocks.

That’s is the plan Chrome the inside. See how it looks. Out side gets silver and that coat dries. Then in paint it white and add fine salt. Not corse salt like you would use to simulate rust. But fine salt to simulate road chipped/sandblasted aluminum on the forward panels. And then after...

Fooling around with the techno body pins I moved the body back just a little and got the body centered on the wheels I wanted to do a polished aluminum paint scheme with silver stripes. But the chrome will look really bad. All the different thickness and curves show up like paint blotches. So I...

I want to race in a very big asphalt oval. I’m going to probably make new shock towers and use a shorter shock which stif springs. Not exactly sure what. I have rear shock from a 1/10 scal EB410.2 . They are the correct length but the springs are bottomed out just sitting still. Paint is...

This took a minute to figure out. The 85mm wheels from Arrma looked to small. S it was the 100 mm wheels from GRP. I got the GTX04-XM4 slicks. The they use a 17 hex. But the hex adapters from Hot Racing are for 4mm hubs not 5mm so I had to rethread the bolts. But I think it’s all going to...
