It's update time again. Only had a little time today, but did manage to get a few things done. I got the roof rack that was included with the kit installed. It looks good but I may end up replacing it with a metal one. I know metal would be heavier, wich is less than optimal that high up, but...
Crawlers are not taking the abuse of a basher, if you smack a crawler at 5 or less mph there is no where near the force of hitting something at 30+ mph like other rc's. Shoe Goo might give you piece of mind, but I think it's just unnecessary weight and expense on a crawler. I think at the most...
You get better detail with hard bodies but with a large weight penalty. Lexan bodies help keep the weight at the bottom of a crawler where you want it.
It really wasn't that bad. I just faked it as I went along, I hand cut a strip of vinyl and stuck it down, then on to the next, and so on.
I've been looking at those. :)
Finally finished putting all of the vinyl stripes on. Also the rest of the decals and spare tire.
I think I am going to move the license plate back up to the center. Still more to come!
That's how you know you picked a good hobby in the first place! :) I'm the same with Scale model building. I go like crazy for 5 years or so then take a break, it's been about four years since I've built anything (RC is taking up my free time) but I've been feeling the itch again. I have...
Keep the TRX-4 and get the Enduro. They like to have company. ;)
No apology necessary, I'm enjoying this thread. I'm still a newb too, just learning as I go. :)
I don't mind a little derailing of the thread, I'm learning stuff, and it's becoming a crawler recruiting tool!
The more that join us, the more fun we will have! :)
Maybe we should start a club, Crawler Lovers of Doom! or C.LO.D. for short. 🤣 🤣 🤣
I have to admit, the Redcat Gen 8 look pretty good, and has gotten pretty solid reviews.
The Traxxas Trx-4 platform is also excellent, that new Bronco really wanted me to buy it, but it was at the higher end of the budget. For the same amount of money I got my Element Sendero HD and a bunch of...
@StonerRC365 Do you want a crawler that is a serious rock climber, or do you just want a nice trail truck that does a little of everything well. Both of my rigs are more trail truck, but fun as heck! Also what kind of budget do you want to stay in. @Xraycer has more experience with different...
No immediate plans for the windows, it actually has clear windows, the decals are slightly frosted and tinted. The problem is figuring out an interior. and right now I'm not feeling like tackling that. It is still an option for down the road if I need a project.
I hadn't decided on the plates...
