Replaced the stock metal steering brace with carbon fiber
Pulled out the rear gear shaft again
Installed lightweight clutch hubs
And a carbon fiber brake disk with integrated single piece pulley/brake hub
Lastly removed the front metal hinge pin braces and upgraded them to carbon...
Had to bust my hump to find these R40 hop-ups, thankfully hard work pays off! This was a lot of fun to install
What a massive difference
Sweet new one-way setup
I value my sleep, I work 12-14 hour days and can’t function without my 8 hours. People who can take naps periodically throughout the day are lucky! It’s such a convenient way to catch up on sleep 😂
I appreciate the kind words, thank you 😁
Sourcing new old parts is a game in and of itself. It’s fun to score something rare haha
I wish I could contribute to this forum with more than just sharing pictures of my stuff, though it’s hard to find time for it. I’m active in other places as well...
Loooong awaited update lol
The car no longer has that blue foam bumper it’s back to stock 🫡
I scored a really rare piece that I’ve been looking to find for a year
Oh yeah, carbon battery door > plastic
I also put some new wheels on the car to freshen it up
I found the lightweight version of the rear gear shaft as well as some lighter engine mounts.
Pulled everything back out for the billionth time
I did some cleaning to the engine and adjusted the clutch, and then put in a new turbo plug
Old mounts compared to new
new mounts are on

So today I began working on removing my super light 2.3mm upper deck, here it is
It’s a great piece, but I’m replacing it with this ultra rare eagle racing deck to match the rest of the car
It’s a huge pain to remove the upper deck, all these parts have to come off
While apart I took this...
Got a new brake kit and alloy pulleys ready to go on, I also wanted to use this opportunity to adjust the 2 speed clutch to factory settings
Pulled out the factory gearbox
New (left)
All buttoned up
Are there parts like this available for a Jato? When I had one all I did was put on the lightweight chassis plate. My Rustler at the time had way more upgrades on it
HPI sells this lightweight mid shaft for the R40. It didn’t feel that light when I held it in my hand
I took out the old one to compare them and holy sh** the stock one was insanely heavy… too heavy for what was supposed to be a race car.
As you can see one is hollow and one is not
I...
Pulled out the R40 for some more upgrades, I found these sweet Eagle Racing parts
Also scored some alloy bulkheads
The fit and finish on these is excellent, they even included screws and spacers. 10/10 product, very pleasant to install after dealing with parts from other brands that don’t...
I agree, the Tamiya TGR for example looks so aggressive with how low slung everything on it is. I appreciate all shapes of cooling heads, but some are more interesting to look at than others. You can say they’re… cooler 😎
Yes it still needs to be oiled
