The Traxxas part number for the fiberglass shock tower is 4440 and the big bore shocks are 2660 (front) and 2662 (rear), Losi Truck springs are good fit and choice to use with the big bore shocks too.
Here are links to Tower for the shock tower and big bore shocks...
My son has been racing and bashing with his Nitro Rustler for 5 years now. The only weak links we found were the rear shock tower and the shocks. Traxxas makes a graphite upgrade for the shock tower and the Traxxas Big Bore aluminum shocks we added to his work flawlessly. Those are my 2 upgrade...
Another thing to look at with the original RC10 is the tranny. Those old six gear tranny's produce a lot of rotating mass, and if I remember right from the RC10 that I had the tranny has brass bushings. Replace all of those bushings with bearings, that will help extend your run times too.
Colder weather will require some carb adjustments, but it sounds more to me like your glow plug might be the cause of your stalling problems. If you haven't tried a new plug yet, start there first, then look at retuning.
That tear in the exhaust coupler was probaly the problem. The reason being is that it took pressure away from the fuel tank. Loss of pressure to the fuel tank causes the fuel mixture to go lean.
I don't think Jesse's GT has a rear exhaust engine. If it's a metal to metal issue with the GT, then it's probably the brake linkage. Jesse get a small coffee stir straw from a local gas station and slide that over the brake linkage where it threads through the eye on the brake lever. That may...
Geez, guess I should be coming to this forum more, I didn't see this post until today. If I had known about this earlier, I would have deleted my avatar for you.
Tower was dropped as the distributor for Kyosho. Kyosho now has their own distribution center in California. My suggestion is to send them an email and see if they can help you out with finding the parts. http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/
I'm needing a uncut crank for a Trinity/Picco 12 or 15. I'd be willing to buy a worn out engine as long as the crank is still good. If anyone has one to get rid of, please either post it here or send a PM.
Thanks Guy's,
DRF
Robinson Racing clutch bells have worked better and lasted longer on my wifes GT then the stock AE bells do, you may want to try one of those. Stick with the stock 66 tooth spur gear and jump to an 18 tooth clutch bell, that combo will still give you a good hole shot and increase the top speed...
Well guy's I live right down the road from Jesse and I haven't heard from him either. I've sent him a couple emails to see how he's doing but I have yet to get a reply. I had his phone number stored on my computer but an unfortunate crash lost everything. I've only been to his place once, and...
I raced with a guy last year while living in Florida who swears by Nitro Blast. He started using it because of the high temps and humidity there in the summer. I must say that I myself was impressed with the way it worked for him. He always ran at much cooler temps then I ever did, and the old...
Try driving around Florida when the "Snowbirds" hit the state. That'll put the fear of God in you right away! LOL The wife and I lived there from August of last year until Feb this year. From the end of Sept to the time we left, accidents in Hudson (where we were living) increased over 500% ...
