I dont see why not. If you go decide to go brushless you will need to get a esc that is made for brushless motors.

Brushless motors need very little if any maintanace where a brushed motor the brushes will get worn out and will need to be replaced. Brushed motors need to be kept clean to work at their best.

I have a 6800 mamba with a 6 cell pack. I peronally am happy with this set up. I get a nice top speed and enough low end to keep me happy. I will be going to an 8000 mamba and possibly lipo in maybe a month or 2.
