    Vintage RC10

Well, due largely to the fact that parts are a little hard to come by, I'd recommend something around a 27t stock motor, maybe 17 turn brushed, at the wildest. A modern 27t stock motor is pretty wild compared to the stock motors of just 5 years ago. Aside from that, the sky is the limit.

    Sleeve Pinching?

I've used one of these tools before. The best advice I can give is practice on a piston/sleeve that is long-gone. Go slow, and literally just enough to put tension on the screw. It does not take much.

    3 speed trans shift

Rolex, do you still need the stock adjustments for the 3 speed? If so, it varies by the spur/bell combo... I posted a while back on how to adjust the 3 speed by mathematical equation. Here ya go:

    My First Explosion!

It's entirely possible. But you said it was warm to the touch.... I'm leaning more towards a faulty cell at this point. For cleanup, I'd say some water and baking soda (to neutralize the battery acid) should do. Provided baking soda is what you use, of course.

    My First Explosion!

Off the top of my head, looking at the way the truck is designed, I would guess the pack just overheated. Either that, or amp-draw claimed it. Either way, you may want to consider dropping a tooth on the pinion(s). This will help lessen the draw on the packs.

Sold / Found wanting dog bones

Kyosho did produce a 2wd 10th scale nitro buggy for a while. Tower discontinued carrying Kyosho a few years ago; you either have to go ebay or contact Kyosho directly.

Sad Loss to the RC comunity

I still have issues of Car Action with alot of his articles in them. He definitely left a mark on that magazine.

need help on replacing spur gear on savage 25

Not really, but that is a fix if the nut keeps coming loose. Also, make sure the purple plate your engine sits on is securely bolted to the transmission case. The screws are threaded in from the bottom. If they are loose, replace with a nut and bolt. This will go a LONG way towards preventing...

    Jury Duty

I seem to get it every year. The last time, I almost got picked to serve on the jury of a trial of a guy that killed his step-dad with a samurai sword.

    Clutch advice please

When you put the engine in, did you tighten the clutch nut properly?

    Rc10 clutch issues

Could be a loose diff or slipper, if that's the case. Or you could have a sheered axle pin. I've sheered a couple of those in my time. The best thing you can do is hold the spur gear and roll the truck while looking at the axles and slipper nut. That should give you some insight as to where the...

    What gearing?

Try dropping about 6 teeth on the pinion, and monitor temps on the motor. Don't worry about any speed drops; that mod motor will wind WAY out... it has roughly 2.5x the rpms as your stock motor, maybe more.

    is all integy stuff garbage??

I have two integy parts on my savage... I guess that's why I keep stripping spurs (even though they're the cross braces at the bottom of the chassis, that bolts to the inside edge of the skid-plates).

    LHS will not honor Traxxas.

The real reason a hobby shop won't do this is pretty simple. Supply. If they exchanged the engine for you with an engine they have in stock, that leaves them down an engine. Not a huge deal, but then they themselves have to deal with Traxxas. They have to contact Traxxas, get them to reimburse...

    Rc10 clutch issues

Sounds like your flywheel came loose. Use a pair of Channel-lock pliers, and hold the flywheel, while tightening the clutch nut with an 8MM wrench. Don't be afraid to bear down on it; you don't want it coming loose easily. You can use a rag between the pliers and flywheel if you don't want to...

    pitbulls

I hate to say it, but I kinda side with the guy who shot the dogs. The whole 30 minutes part is a bit fishy, and sounds more like he was the one doing the stalking. Other than that, if he was watching them and felt they were about to attack someone, he did the right thing. I know that if I had...

    broke my pull start

I posted a how-to not too long ago in the engine section.... https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64348 Even includes pictures of my smashed up thumb, lol.

    Why?

If he's using the same exact pinion, that's why. The motor could be drastically overgeared. Tell him to install a pinion that is about 4-5 teeth smaller. That should get him in the ballpark, and increase his runtimes a bit.

    adding reverseo my savage 25

The Z590M will be a bit overkill... You don't need very much torque at all to move the reversing linkage. A standard JR will be more than enough. You only need enough to move the linkage, and to hold it in place... Personally, I use a pieced-together Airtronics 94102 (from various 94102's...

My best wishes to the patient... But we all know, the crawler is really an excuse to 'crawl' a nurse.... :D.
