    Receiver packs and runtimes...

Make your own with packs with AA's. You can get Eveready 2500Mah NiMh batteries at Walmart and make your packs out of them. They should last a long time. Several guys at our track have their own packs made up like that with 2k Mah AA cells. I usually get 3 qualifiers with my NiMh packs then...

    starterbox

I had mine set up with only 3 pins, 2 in the front and one in the back. Had to drill another hole to get the rear pin in the right position.

    No Directional Stability

Isn't it amazing how much difference the right tires make to drivability. I see it all of the time at our indoor track. New guys will come in with their RTR trucks with Step Pins and do spin outs and either end up in the wall or on the tubes every 3 seconds. Hand them a set of Losi pink Taper...

    xxxnt or the gt

The Losi is a great truck. the main upgrades you will want to get would be aluminum front and rear pivot blocks. If you have graphite Drake 1 parts, you an change them to the older version xxx-NT plastic parts for half the price of graphite and they will flex rather than break. The only other...

ring and pinion gears, to grease or not?

I've been using Prizm Teflon based spray lube, it flows like water and sets up like grease when it dries. I also spray a bit on my CB and spur gear once a month. That stuff is some slick $hit. We use it to lube cams with bearing rollers on the cam followers on machines at work and I have seen...

whats to do with brand new k3?

I would keep the buggy and finish building it. If not then sell the Buggy roller w/o the engine and you will be less likely to lose you A$$ on the deal. Take the engine out of the buggy and keep it for the MT when the RTR engine blows. You also have to keep in mind the Radio gear that comes with...

    kanai 3 hop-ups?

A-Main Hobbies carries several brands of hop-up parts for Kyosho. King Heads, Fioroni and I think they may have Racers Edge parts also. www.amainhobbies.com/ Great cusomer service too

    Rebuild DTX 0.18

If you are going to replace the piston and sleeve, replace them with OS.18 piston and sleeve. While the DTX is listed as ABC, someone told me they are actually ABN and doesn't last as long as ABC piston sleeves. The DTX18 is made by OS so the parts will work.

    removing tires from rims?

Acetone and large coffee can. Pour enough Acetone in coffee can to cover 1 or 2 tires completely. You may have to weigh them down to keep them from floating. Let them soak over night and the tires should come right off w/o any damage to the tire or wheel however the foams may be ruened. Any...

    OS 18TM Bearing Removal

I have used a torch to heat the case around the bearing and it will pop right out. You have to be very careful if you do this and only heat it for a few seconds and keep the flame moving around the bearing part of the case. Too much heat in one spot can damage the case. after about 10 seconds of...

    Does glow plug length matter?

IF you get it to run at all you will suffer in performance, the shorter plug will result in less compression but won't hurt the engine. If you normally ran short plugs and put a long plug in, you would damage the piston and or connecting rod. Get the right plugs for you mil and sell the...

    Thinking about building this

At our indoor/off road track, we use Filtered Clay and for the hair-pin turns we bank them to help the cars/trucks get around faster. You can alter the elevation of different lanes so the build up of dirt for the banked turns will not affect the next lane. The main thing to watch out for when...

    Rich, lean or ???

Your temps sound like they are getting in the right range now but if you are still having stalling problems you may want to tweak the LSN a little. You can get the LSN close by doing the pinch test on the fuel line about an inch before the carb. It should run for 3-5 seconds before it dies. I...

Ok, here's a dumb one. What is Ride Height....

I've always heard that you check it after working the shocks up and down a few times then do a 12 inch drop and check it after it settles. So far it works for me just fine.

    quick question .please help

If the nut on the pinch bolt is botteming out before it tightens the carb, you may need to install a washer with the same ID as the biggest part of the pinch bolt. If that doesn't work you may need to replace the pinch bolt unless the carb body is damaged. Only use Permatex Ultra Copper to seal...

Loss Of Power, Stalls When Up To Temp

with the stalling at idle, you may want to richen the LSN just a hair 1/16 to 1/8 turn at a time. this will halp with the hard starts after stalling also. if you still have problems do what Bouzouki said and check the piston/sleeve. mark the postion of the piston before you remove it so you will...

what tuning changes do I make when changing glow plugs?

I usually set my LSN to 4 second pinch test stall. Then lean it 1/16-1/8 turn at a time until I get good launch after idling for 5-10 seconds and it doesn't sound flat or boggy from bottem to mid range. Once you find the range put a mark on the LSN housing and you can tweak it lean or rich 45...

    RC10GT Dogbone Problems.

Hey Tweak, I got the solution that will cure all of your bone problems and not have to change your camber to extremes to fix it. Get RC10-T4 bones or CVD's, They are about 1/4 inch longer than the GT bones so they will stay seated. I had the same problem with my T3 (same axles as GT) with...
