Thanks guys for the comments and support. Been waiting on a few parts on backorder, but should have enough to get started this weekend. Besides the brushless upgrade and the lower links, I have the Axial aluminum servo mount, Yeti rear sway bar to install, and suspension link mounts. Still...
Been a while since I've posted, but actually a long time member from my first nitro R/C (which I still have!). Thought I'd post up my latest addition, an RTR Axial Bomber. I'm going to be updating the suspension links, shocks, drive system, and more over the next few weeks. Hoping to post...
I have a spare HPI MT2 I could let go. It was my son's truck (we each had one). Hasn't been run in a while, but except for some scrapes and the usual wear, it's all there. Rotostart, AM radio, etc. Would be a nice starter truck. The HPI T-15 engines are easy to tune and it's a fun little truck...
Been busy with work and life, but wanted to pop in an see the new, updated forum. Very nice! A Cow R/C mat and some tools would be great for my new R/C workspace I'm planning!
Adult owned Ken Block Gymkhana R/C car up for sale. This thing is fast and fun! Based on the Traxxas 1/16 chassis there are a ton of parts to service and upgrade this car but the Ken Block model is NO LONGER made. You're looking at a rare piece of R/C history.
Included is the R/C car itself...
HPIGuy, check out Decalgear.com. This is what I use for simple projects like custom license plates, stripe lettering/engine size, logos, etc. They are the company that make the Testors kits. It is not a sticker but a water based quick-slide decal. Like on plastic model kits. The software...
According to HPI's site it is an optional radio for just about every RC they make, so it should work. Try downloading a manual for one of HPI's models that use that radio (I think the Savage Flux does) so you will have the radio's instructions for binding/setup/etc. and go from there...

A little late to the party for entry post number one, but like the lottery you only need one ticket to win right?
Count me in and thanks for the contest!
Are you in the US? If so, HPI has a trade-in program and you can get a stock replacement relatively cheap. Sure there are plenty of power upgrade options on the hobby store shelf, but with the stock engine it'll bolt right in without having to deal with conversion mounts, different flywheel...
Remove the glow plug and rotate the flywheel so that the piston is at the bottom of the engine (BDC). Then take a paint pen or sharpie and place a mark on the flywheel in the opening in the deck. This way, once you run the car you can always set the piston at the bottom of the engine so that it...
Bought the Harbor Freight single action plastic junk for a quickie paint job (needed to mix a custom color). Previously I was 100 percent rattle cans. Anyway, it sprayed OK, but don't even THINK about detail work.
As I used it more (and got more frustrated) I realized I needed a good gun. I...
Also go through your manual and verify such things as the carb opening gap, needles set to stock, servos centered, and so forth. I use 20% in all my HPI small-blocks, so you might want to up the fuel percentage too. Generally it is best to break the car in on the fuel you intend to use all the...
While I've never thought of it until reading it, ear plugs would work great, as you compress them and then insert into the cavity and they expand to seal, yet are easy to remove. I have them all over the place-home and work-so it's easy for me to simply grab a set out of my camera gear to use...
Yep, probably one of the first things I bought at the hobby store ten years ago when I got my first nitro was a return spring. Can't remember the brand, but had a little metal tab to secure one end to the chassis and the other end loops around the servo linkage.
As for my R/C "addiction", I...
Yes, upgrading to a 2.4 radio certainly helps. I have the HPI TF-40 with my Vaughn Gittin E10 Mustang drifter. Only down side is I've not been able to verify who makes it for them (like their old Airtronics gear) and if it has multi-memory support (as I have 11 vehicles)...
