Thanks for the tip, I just took my diffs apart today, to upgrade to the spider gear mod and replace the lube. I see what your talking about with the play in the gear. I'm going to look at a hardware store to see if I can find some shims.
I ordered my STS .28
Got it for $121 shipped from Ebay
Was the only seller that said anything about an updated cooling head. Plus they had the tie rod ends I wanted so made it a little cheaper on shipping.
Yeh I've been doing some reeding, and everyone seems pretty happy with the STS .28.
With the money I save I may get it with a roto start on it.
How is this enging to tune?
I have the Hyper 21 and it seems pretty easy.
I'm in the market for to replace my Hyper 21.
I'm looking to spend about $150. Would you say the SH .28 or the Werks .27?
Or is there a better engine for $150?
Yeh i have a 3 shoe clultch set up coming and a few different bells, So I may try that first, then put in the 3 speed when i get the .27
Yeh i keep braking mine too. I think its just too cold in Idaho right now, some of the plastic parts seem brittle. Or it could be the bad landings doing...
I just seen 3rd Gear, and bought it. Guess I should have asked around a little. But the HPI website says
You can use it for all Savages, its just optimized for the big blocks.
Anyone think that this wouldnt be a good performance upgrade with only a Hyper21?
Just wondering how the 3rd gear is working out? I just ordered mine and will be running it with my hyper21. Soon to be upgrading to a Picco .27.
Go to Iraq for a while and everything has changed, I've ordered so many new parts in the past week.
Do a search on the Hyper 21 8 Port. There are a bunch of us who have it and a few good tips on geting it broke in. Do a search, but one thing put some after run oil in it and crank it about a dozen times, and loosen the glow plug a little when you start it.
Well I dont own a Tmaxx, but from what everyone is saying, Everything they dont like about the Tmaxx they like about the Savage. There are plenty of Hop ups out for the Savage. An engine is a good place to start. Since its heavier than the Tmaxx its a little slower, with the stock mill.
