Was a teenager looking through the posts and saw the vid in this thread ... I believe he was going more for 'varoooom' or something like it ... sorry 'bout that.
You are correct Christian. I was having an extremely bad day and took out my mood on what would otherwise have made me come back with something witty to say myself.
To all who responded in this thread, I apologize. Please excuse my poor behaviour.
So far most of the help I have received on...
Thanks so much for the help guys. For your education and edification allow me to post this link - http://rc10.com/misc/jaguar/ - that details why I'm getting the rapid beep and HOW-TO fix it.
As for the piece of the circuit board, Ace hobbies has assured me it is not an integral part, was...
Well, coming from a bunch of pimple faced teenaged IDIOTS on some board about their riced up rides, I would have expected this kind of reply. But from supposed hobbiests?
The rc10/radio/ecverything was purchased used (Some ppl on strict budgets cannot afford NEW) I've always done my own work...
I tore my transmitter down today. It is a Jaguar TZP for controlling my RC10GT. The spring that brings the steering back to center had failed.
Upon opening the case a small 1/2"x1/2" piece of a circuit board fell out. I have no clue where it belongs and when I put the xmitter back together...
I read somewhere, someone had tested several tuned pipes/headers on the 2.5 and ALL of the mods brought the power down.
I don't remember where I read it and have no further proof of this happening.
Just my .02

Can't moderate chat rooms, but can moderate "talkers" to a great degree.
I might be willing to run a test talker for RCNT if the powers that be on the forum would give their blessing for me to do so. And if the interest were there from the forum users.
Just something to think about. I have...
You already have come across as being a Radio Shack hobbiest for even thinking about reverse in a fine machine like the Savage! :trout:
I think I'll go back to :music: and just ignore ol' Savage Earth for a while LOL
Just joking C, have a good day off, even if you do have to work (which sux)
Thanks X - I can almost visualize what you're saying there.
And Candyman. It's still a pain for me to get that far, cuz I have to loosen the header for my stinger pipe to get at the last bolt LOL
Jim
Denatured alcohol worked great! Thanks!
Candyman, the smooth bolt you mentioned is also in my engine, but the shaft comes through the backplate and goes through a "nut" of sorts on the outside of the engine. The nut meshes with the pull start. The nut is the one way bearing itself.
But...
Adjusting the slipper clutch worked like a charm. No more torque steering, and the front end tracks true.
Thanks for the advice.
I'll post updates and pics as I get them.
You're a great bunch of folks!
Jim
Denatured alcohol it is then. I grew up as the neighborhood bicycle mechanic, as well as lawnmower mechanic as I got older. Gasoline is the best cleaning solvent I've known to date.
Ok and carb cleaner too :ha
So ya can teach an old dog new tricks. :hehe: WIll try the alcohol.
Thanks...
Thanks guys!
Am planning on taking this cold weekend to strip my truck down and just do some general maintenance on it.
I'll let ya'll know how it goes. Supposed to warm up this next week a bit, so maybe I'll get the tear down done this weekend and be able to test on Monday or Tuesday...
I plan on building a dirt track in a lot next to my house.
The rough dimensions of the area are 45'x90'. I have a couple of friends getting into the hobby and we will use this track and another one quite a ways away from here to play/race on.
The front straight will be the full length of...
As stated in my previous thread. I've got a bit of a problem with the rear of my RC10 pulling the nose up too far up and making it difficult to turn and accelerate at the same time. Well, hell making it difficult to accelerate and stay on the ground at the same time.
I have to ease slowly...
Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Such a nice welcome. Tried posting to another board and got ignored.
Will post that question to the appropriate section of this site and see what I get. :D
Ok, onto the questions at hand.
X the priming of the carb/fuel line worked! got it...
 <--- As you can see I'm banging my head against this one.
Newbie to cars/trucks - Had an airplane in the early 80's so I've been around the hobby a long time.
I've got a .15 mill running in my RC10. When I go to pull start it, it seems to have compression-a-plenty, but it doesn't...
