Sometimes you get servo chatter when the transmitter (not the remote) is too close to the receiver. Does it do it if you stand back from the car?
I'm assuming you mean the radio when you refer to the "remote". You might also want to do a re-bind on the system and see if it changes.

Jeez, I'm an idiot. Same as car engines, big block has a longer piston stroke and more low end torque. Small block is a shorter stroke with more RPMs on the high end. Different gear ratios for maximum performance.
Just sitting still it was probably straining to center itself with too much resistance from tires that were not moving. Still, it shouldn't have stripped, maybe overheated a bit is all. I agree with @tntpoof that you should contact Traxxas. I'm sure they'll replace it for you.

It depends on what you're running and what the scale is. I currently have 2 HummVees in the works with HV bead lock tires and 2.2 tires. It's the size that was right for these trucks.
