Ya I'm using a 7.4 volt 5000 mah nimh battery. I have already upgraded to RRP trans gears and MIP driveshafts. Lockers will come at another time. Hopefully the nimh batts that I've got don't hold back the performance of the Tekin.
Ya thats what I'll do. At least that will give me better wheel speed. I would assume that because of the motor being much higher in turns than my stock 27t that temps are not as big of an issue?
Hey guys. I will be installing a Tekin 45t heavy duty into my scx in the next couple of weeks and I am wondering what the best gearing would be. At the moment I have a 84t spur installed for clearance purposes with my MIP driveshafts and a 14 pinion. This is a good gearing combo imo with the 27t...
Ya I was actually looking at getting a set of the 1.9 Mickey Thompson Baja claws 4.75". They do look quite a bit taller than the stock Ripsaws but I think I could get away with using them by doing a small amount if trimming on the body. They would be about a 1/2" taller than stock. I might also...

Upgrading these Scx10 trucks is very addictive! I have on order a new bumper and a RRP trans gear to match up with the idler gear I also have hanging on the wall. I also just finished a new body and bought some new tow shackles that will go on the bumper. Plus last week I picked up some Hobby...
My 2wd Stampede is waterproof and I used it out in the snow all the time in winter. Never had an issue with getting water and snow in the truck. I just dried it off really well when back inside. You can pick one up for fairly cheap.

One of the best investments I've made so far. Takes all the guess work out of it. May be too hot to hold your finger on but still within safe operating temps. I dont buy into the finger test method anymore.

Got the aluminum links installed. Very nice set for sure. One thing i did notice is that the front upper lengths pushed the servo horn into the cross brace that the battery tray mounts to. I solved this by shortening the upper links with different rod ends from the kit and dremelling the brace...
