This is exactly what happened to my TRX 3.3. The engine was actually screaming for a while when it was running, I assumed the EZ start was shot, but someone suggested the reason I was popping plugs might be the bearings.....heres what I found
Thanks, but you really need to read the whole thread, not just comment on the first post. :D
It doesn't normally get above 210-220f, not knowingly anyway ;)
Had another quick blast with it on my home from work last night........runs like a treat now, so well I managed to crack one of the...
Rebuilt yesterday and gave it another whirl, but still didnt work.
It really wants to, but it didnt quite fire up. I dont know why but I decided to fit my EZ start and see if that would help. The EZ spins faster than the Roto, so I guess I just wondered if it might help.
.....and it did...
Clockwise looking from the back of the motor, so looking from the EZ start end, the flywheel should be running clockwise.
Like someone said, check the writing on the OWB is facing toward the flywheel.
It sounds more likely that you have done something wrong in the transmission rather than...
Haha, no, not from round those parts at all ;)
I've already done the pinch anyway, warmed the sleeve up in a bearing oven at work then quenched it in some nice clean oil. The piston is nicely nipped about 3-4mm from the top of the sleeve now.
Gonna give it a go at lunch time.
Still having massive problems.
Made a video at the weekend so that someone might be able to help.......
Heres the vid, just check the sounds that the truck makes
I've actually stripped the engine down again today since I really can't figure out what the problem is. I'm wondering if it might be...
As far as the truck goes, it looks like a decent deal, but Id be cautious about buying a 2nd hand truck with 4 gallons through it.......I've been stung personally with a crappy motor in a truck.
That said, he does look like he knows what he's doing so the chances are the motor has been well...
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean? I have already fitted a new carb?
I will strip the carb again tonight and make sure there isnt any debris in there and report back tomorrow. Wish I wasn't at work so I could get in the garage now :\
Glow starter is good, tried a couple of different plugs, no worries there.
I've checked the piston and its right, assuming that the cut out in the skirt should face the front i.e. the flywheel?
I've done another leak test and found that there was a tiny leak from the carb pinch bolt. I dont...
I'm pretty sure the piston is in right, I remember checking to see that the oil hole in the rod was facing to the front of the engine.
I might be wrong here, but if I'm using an external glow heater i.e. not the EZ start, I dont need the yellow wire. In fact, the wiring harness isnt installed at...
But more likely.......stupid Beddo.
Firstly, sorry for the long post, but I feel I need to explain everything I've tried.
OK, so I've got a TRX 3.3 which I have run about 3/4 gallon through of 25% (1st Monster Juice but now Byrons). The motor used to start no problem, warm or cold, and...
Hey guys,
I've got a TRX 3.3 running on 25% fuel. When the truck is cold it seems to start ok, but after I run through a tank and stop it for a refuel, it takes for ever to restart. Its the same for every tank.
I've checked my glow starter and its fine.
The tune is good, the engine runs...
I'm running a TRX 3.3 on 25% Tornado fuel.
I have a new tank fitted and have fitted new fuel lines. The air filter is cleaned regularly.
I have returned the engine to factory settings and tuned from there, getting leaner on both HS & LS needles.
The truch seems to start quite well, euns...
Could any of you guys who run a Rotostart system do me a favour?
Id like to know the size of the hex on your backplate and the diagonal dimension across the holes which hold the rotostart to the backplate. Also what rotostart you have (or the engine it is bolted to)
Any assistance greatly...
