What the heck do you do with these RC trucks, go to work on them??? Hell I've never spent that much on a truck, and had to rebuild my Savage with a new engine et all. 2 grand on a nitro is way out of proportions....
I love nitro and gas RC, and hate electric. So I am biased...but anyways, I also started in nitro without knowing anything about nitro rigs, and I also had to learn the hard way.
Parts do break, it is sometimes hard to tune, but in my experience, and even with my first nitro, it was more...
For break in settings just leave as is and adjust once you have it running and can see how it reacts.
For parts the first things that broke on mine were the rear uprights, where they tie up to the rod to keep them from turning. But you should already have spares in the box. Then went the...
Jumping: Savage. It's a tough mean mofo.
Going fast: Not a savage :) It's heavy, and is not built for speed but rather toughness and durability. Truggies and buggies are definitely faster machines, but are also flimsier.
It's a choice you have to make imo, you just can't have both. I am...
Come on now, don't pay for things like this. Just take some spare fuel line, cut it the length you want (on my savage I use 3/4"), then take a small zip tie, pass it through the tubing, then through a clip, then again in the tube and zip it on the other end. Takes a second to do, and it's...
Yes, every upright (that part you unscrewed from the axle) houses two bearings. If you're just cleaning up no need to remove the bearings. Just test them (rotate them with your finger) and if you feel it grinding, like there's sand in the bearing, then go ahead and change them. Otherwise just...
Well on the Savage it's actually 2 bearings, one on each side. No secret here, take off the axle that sits in the bearing, use a pair of long nose pliers or a screwdriver and CAREFULLY pry the bearing loose. Do this gently around the bearing and it will come off. The second one is easier...
Well I've never used a peak charger either, and I did have a bad experience with the wall charger years ago, with one of my first rc truck...the honorable Tamiya Clod Buster eh ;)
I forgot the battery pack was charging, and once I smelled burning the battery pack had half melted on the chair...
Ah great explanations thanks a lot. Now i do need to know what size it is...I took off that wrapping paper to see if the cells have any info on them...but no luck they're black.
Does this means I need to buy a new pack?
Gee that's a good question, not written on it. I bought this years ago, never used it. It's a Reedy Ni-MH receiver pack, and it's got 5 cells. Does this helps?
If not, then would i need the same info when using a peak charger? Cause worst case i'll just go buy one now that's it.
Thanks!
Ok here's a silly question. I've bought this hump pack for my receiver, and I want to know how long I should charge it the first time with that plug in the wall.
I know it's better to have a peak charger, and will buy one before spring, but I just want to test my electronics now and wanted to...
Not sure why you want to do this, but at high speed this thing will be out of control. Then the slightest turn of the wheels will make the truck go topside, and it would be a pain in the buttox to try and line up the two axles straight. That being said, if you still want to do it...
That RB...
Thanks for your reply olds. I actually re-opened it up earlier today and checked those two things, and all seemed to be fine. I did screw the diff in an x pattern in the first place, but checked to be sure. Once I got it back in the bulkhead though, I pried the differential away from the...
Hey all. I've taken apart both my differentials to do the 4 gear spider mod. Everything is perfect in the differential case and both sides spin very smoothly, but when I mount the differential in the bulkhead and spin the bevel gear manually (the one that leads to the transmission), the...
If he messed with the clutch, he could have installed the clutch shoes backwards. What you circled in red is the clutch bell, inside are the clutch shoes (the springs he removed are on the shoes). Check your manual and make sure the shoes are installed properly, and in the proper direction...
Well, little search on Google and...is this what you have?

Alright thanks for the info :)
Well something weird in my transmission...on 6 internal bearings, I only had 5 :whhooo:
Anybody ever had that problem before? The truck always ran nice, with proper shifting...just bizzare that it would work properly anyways. It's missing the bearing on one...
