    New MT from Hotbodies!

The HB Lightning Pro just took second place at the Nitro Challenge at The Dirt this past weekend with a 14-year-old driving! Beat out some major big-name racers who were running Mugen truggies, too.

    New MT from Hotbodies!

You saw the Lightning Stadium Pro, not the Lightning GT. The GT is a single-engine truck shown above, similar to the Stadium RR and Stadium Pro, but with bigger tires and the odd pipe and stuff. The twin-engine one is the GTX2. Go to www.hotbodiesonline.net to see all of them. The...

    New MT from Hotbodies!

Plaidfish, are you talking about the Lightning Stadium or the Lightning GT? The GT supposedly isn't out yet.

    New MT from Hotbodies!

Other than the dual steering servos and odd pipe, how does it really differ from the Lightning Stadium? How do they get it up in the air like that, compared to the Stadium?

    Info needed on the GENISIS?

It's great to know you have Genesis parts, RushRC! We just ordered a Hot Bodies LSP from you and would have bought some Genesis parts at the same time had we looked around and realized you sold them!

Why is the grass Greener? xxxnt/rc10gt

I'm sure they're out there, but I don't care for threaded bodies. People who run them often use a shock spacer to make sure the threaded limiter is even from side to side, so...why not just use a spacer? Instant adjustment. And I've never had a spacer come off while running, but I understand...

    whats up with Ofna?

I disagree about the Storm price, Ericke1. I got mine, through no special deal or anything, brand-new off eBay. I sold the JR radio/receiver and my final cost was $270 and it came with two good JR servos. You can get the MBX for $280, which is a very good deal, but you have to add $45 for a...

Why is the grass Greener? xxxnt/rc10gt

I agree, iflybyu. You can also add some RC10T4 parts to the GT to make it as wide as a Losi. Not sure what they are, but it's all over the 'Net. I bought a Losi because I didn't like the steering of my GT, but I can drive my GT better than the Losi, so I'll probably sell my Losi. Neither...

    starter box

No, the pullstart will be fine, starting it with a starter box has no effect whatsoever on the pullstarter. If you leave the pullstarter intact, how will the one-way get dirty?

    starter box

Neither. Leave the pullstart as is. I've got an RS4 2 with a pullstart installed on its .12 engine and use a starter box all the time. You CAN remove it from most engines and just leave the starter shaft sticking out of the backplate to shave a tiny amount of weight, but I'd leave the PS...

    best failsafe?

I've been running a Dynamite failsafe for about 18 months with no problems. I've also had an XTM for over a year of trouble-free operation, and I'm running three OFNA micro failsafes without trouble as well.

    whats up with Ofna?

You can usually get a GS Storm RTR off eBay for around $380 or so, brand-new. That thing comes race-ready with a nice JR XR3i FM transmitter, too! I didn't need mine, so I sold the radio on eBay for $110 and ended up with a new RTR Storm buggy for $270. :) So far in three races with it I've...

    Went racing on saturday!

I always considered myself a basher, but bashing requires more and more places and jumps and higher and higher, etc. That gets expensive! But racing is always a challenge even if you go to the same track over and over again. It can be stressful at times, but it's worth it.

Why is the grass Greener? xxxnt/rc10gt

I think either can be great racers, but often the characteristics of one vehicle suits a driver better than another. Neither is a hands-down leader in the racing classes, both win a lot. The Losi does seem to be winning a little more these days, however. I think they're close enough, however...

    Went racing on saturday!

I can vouch for that! I've been beating vehicles in my Unlimited Monster Truck class and Sportsman Buggy class with much more powerful engines than mine because I just don't crash that much. They blow past me on a straight, then traction-roll in the corner or tumble after a big-air jump and I...

    Went racing on saturday!

The steering difference is definitely noticeable! Of course there are things you can do to dial in more steering with a GT or dial some out with a Losi. The GT is a relatively old design, but it keeps winning! I'm not absolutely sure Losi and Mugen are geared more toward racing, but the GT...

    Went racing on saturday!

Losis are very good, many say they're better racers, easier to drive well. I got one last month with that mindset, but it's got more steering than the GT and I wasn't used to that, then I took my GT out and won the Sportsman class 10 days ago so....I'm sticking with the GT! I guess it just...

    Went racing on saturday!

1/8 buggies are awesome to race! They handle so nice, great traction, great speed....just point and shoot! But stadium trucks are definitely more of a challenge and require more finesse. Both are a blast, though.

    Went racing on saturday!

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm also in my first year of racing and have done pretty well, I'm proud to say. Just make sure you run the right tires for the track and make your vehicle as reliable as you possibly can. Seems like about half the field drops out due to breakage or engine problems, so if you...

GS Storm Unlimited .25 or Savager .25

This thread has pretty much died now, but I just want to add that since my last post I TQ'd and took the A main win in the Unlimited Monster Truck class at my local track with my SUT (another SUT took 2nd, Dominators finished 3rd and 4th). I'm starting to feel really, really comfortable driving...
