Can I throw my lightning rr threw a window? Starter problems help. And more

If you got any oil in the one way bearing it won't grab hold either. In which case you need to clean it out with a spray cleaner that leaves no residue. Leave the one way bearing DRY, don't use any kind of lube on it.

LOL how do i get this antenna thru the straw?!

roozy: Try twisting the tube while gently working the antenna in. Sometimes this works but be carefull not to over do it and kink the antenna. Another thought I never tried but that should work, feed a heavey thread or fishing line through the tube and put a tiny dab of CA glue on the end of the...

newbie questions...start it and the wheels move foward..

Skinh0agie: No offense but. personaly, I think that's a bunch of hearsay crap. I've been starting my R/Cs with the wheels off the ground since day one more than 10 years ago and have yet to have any problems. Think about it, if you use a starter box the wheels are off the ground all the time...

do i reallly need to wait at least 10hours?!

If you want to spend about $50 or more you can buy a peak charger with single cell capability. It will still take a few hours to cycle the D cell battery though. Not 12 hours but a fair amount of time, you don't want to charge it too quickly or you will risk severly decreasing the battery life...

    shaving the shaft

You would need to be real carefull in this area. First you need to be 100% sure he starter system will fit to the engine case. Next you need to understand that the nut you are refering to is the one way bearing (if we are thinking the same thing). The end of the crankshaft extending beyound the...

should i get this, looks like a good deal and cheap

I liked the description on the bid. The person says the hobby shop flipped the truck and broke the head fin. Well, I know if it had bin my truck, the hobby shop would have replaced the head that THEY broke. It's not a big deal as far as the running condition but a rather a matter of principle if...

    quick question...

I would stay away from the truck in question.

    Rotostart Issues

I don't have the new 25 but if this is an issue, then you might want to do the breakin with the pull start before installing the roto start. I'm just thinking that the engine is at its tighest initially. After the breakin and a few tanks I'd think the internal parts will be a bit more free and...

    Cannister filter?

Get a Motor Save and several extra filter eliments. Some use regular filter oil but I have always just used standard 2 cycle oil and worked it into the foam then paper towel out the excess. Put a few in a plastic bag and change as soon as they are getting pretty dirty or after each heat (if...

    I'm Back! But dissapointed...

I say blame the driving skills and not the nationality. Some are just better at it than others and some do nothing but that one things so they should be good at it. I don't want to hear any nationality, color, race crap. Everything you do you get out of it what you put into it. Some people car...

    Rc10 GT Factory

The both trucks are good. I have an older Losi GTX and had an RC10GT. They both were very good trucks. The RC10GT seemed to handle a little better and parts were much easier to come by than Losi parts. As for the changover. You will need to change engine mounts and flywheel and it would hurt to...

    failsafe

The Venom is nice and faily small. I have one in my NRS4-3 but have it servo taped to the top so I can see when it is active.

    Newbies mistake .25

RussSAV25: Some of the new Savage 25's were assembled incorrectly. The backplates were installed without locktite and were not tightened down enough. There is a post concerning this on the HPI web site. It is just a matter of removing the backplate and reinstalling using locktite on the screws.

best way to clean fuel and stuff out of my car

Some may disagree with my using it but I have always used automotive brake parts cleaner. I have never had a problem with it and it blows all the crud right away and dries in seconds. I just go to the llocal auto parts store and buy the cheaper store name brand. It costs about $2.50 a can...

what type of car is this??

It looks like a rally car. Not all that common in the US but raced (full size) on road style courses that are mostly dirt. I've seen some of these on TV and those guys are crazy! They run on these narrow roads and at times are only a few feet from huge drop-offs with no safety barrier...

    Chassis

dougc: Just a thought but if you are considering going "longer" then you might want to think about an even easier chance of bending the new one. I would have to think that if the chassis is stretched out even more you have a better chance of it bending due being less rigid that a shorter stock...

    Savage SS

Agreed. You probably have a loose backplate at the pull start. There should be no oils or fuel leaking at the backplate. If it is sealing properly it will be dry of oil and fuel anywhere around the engine. The not rolling backwards, if with the truck shut down and radio turned off, could be as...

Changing to different types of gas

You will have to readjust the carb but as stated, no harm in changing other than you may possibly see a difference in performance. Good or bad, only you can decide that.

Difference between staduim trucks and buggies

The difference? Well: 4WD verses 2WD Lower verses higher suspension 1/8 scale verses 1/10 scale .21 verses .12 - .15 engine Quite different handling charcateristics Completely different wheels and tires Buggies generally need much more room to show full potential
