Freshly rebuilt HPI F4.1 engine. Using roto-start. It's rebuilt correctly, don't worry. I've torn it apart again several times to check over again. Glow plug is good. Everything is good. Fresh fuel, lines, everything. Manual says flush for needle settings, so everything is flush. I have the carb set right, 'I think'.

When I go to start it, I have to unflood it and warm it up a bit with the glow plug unscrewed a quarter turn to account for the newly found compression, then I tighten it back up. Starts right up, but it sounds like that piston slack/clicking and not wanting to keep running. I take the glow plug igniter off and it starts to bog down, then dies. Piston and sleeve are flawless. I don't get it guys. Any ideas?

Sounds like all the symptoms of an engine that's too rich on the LSN.

Definitely could be. I'll lean it out a bit at a time. Thanks for the advice.
