I'm not that knowledgeable about electric but there is a video on youtube of a electric rustler doing 144mph. Is this possible? I first thought KM not mph but his gps clearly shows 144mph. I would figure after about 80 the car would go air born and totally loose control. Thoughts on this matter?

Its very possible, look up tim smith racing, he has several videos of 100+ mph electric cars

Thats pretty impressive. I can see like the xo1 or other low profile hitting 100+ but the rustler is more of a stadium truck.

Got a link to the video?

Our own @DreamMachine has built Savage's that have reached over 100+ MPH so anything's possible.

Its possible. My High speed Rustler is capable of speeds upwards of 110-115MPH or so and I dont even have it geared that aggressively (currently geared 36T spur and 34 tooth pinion). I have an custom made adapter that would allow me to use a spur gear for a pinion and get smaller than a 1:1 gear ratio. You have to vent the body to make sure the body doesn't provide lift like this.

And i also moded out the rear of the body under the rear spoiler so it would cut down on drag.

got a down force wing mounted in the front

Also have 1lb 3oz on the front of the kit as well.

Still need to add about 3/4 of a pound on the rear of the kit to stabilize it better.

Thats I

With enough power and aerodynamics anything is possible

That'll either go like mad, or explode. Either way, it ought to be impressive. :woot:

A good example of lots of all power no real aerodynamics is the space shuttle. It flew like a brick but came back at over Mach 25...

If your referring to my Rustler, Its goes like mad, right up until something goes wrong...Then it explodes. This thing has probably absorbed more money from my wallet than any other single project I've done. Thats why I dont mess with it to much anymore. Its mostly a trophy now lol
