It’s been rumored now for a while, however only recently has HPI Racing made it official that there is going to be a HPI Baja 5b SS buggy. In fact Tower Hobbies already has the large scale buggy listed for $919.99 with an availability date of “Mid Oct”.

The new HPI Baja 5b SS large scale buggy will feature many hop-ups found for the HPI Baja 5b RTR already included with the HPI Baja 5b SS. Features such as heavy duty deadlocks, heavy duty dog bones. The HPI Baja 5b SS will also include a larger Fuelie 26cc gas engine as well as thicker shock shafts and improved rear shock tower.

Just last week we told you about the HPI Savage 3 speed transmission, well now HPI is adding even more top speed for owners of their new 3 speed tranny with their new HPI High Speed Third Gear Set for HPI Savage 3 speed transmission owners.

The new third gear set gives a 15% taller ratio for 3rd gear, with 26 and 36 tooth gears replacing the standard 24 and 38 tooth gears. The result is the same punch found in first and second gears, but with more top speed in 3rd gear. Please note that the new HPI high speed third gear set will only fit the original Savage 3 speed transmission and the newer Savage X 3 speed transmissions.
